St. Patrick’s Day on Anna Maria Island: Your Complete Island Guide
Anna Maria Island’s Favorite Holiday Is Almost Here
Every year, Anna Maria Island throws one of the most charming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on the Gulf Coast. It’s the kind of small-town parade that feels like it could only exist here — community-driven, festive, and completely unpretentious. No massive crowds, no corporate sponsorships, no chaos. Just locals and visitors lining the street in green, waving at floats, and celebrating the start of spring together.
If you’ve never experienced St. Patrick’s Day on Anna Maria Island, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of it in 2026.
The Anna Maria Island St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Parade Details
- Date: Sunday, March 15, 2026
- Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Route: Starts at the Marina, moves along Marina Drive, then turns onto Gulf Drive North, down Pine Avenue, and ends at Magnolia Avenue
- Entry: Free — just show up and find a spot along the route
The parade is family-friendly, with floats, golf carts, local clubs, and plenty of green everything. It typically lasts about an hour, with festivities continuing at bars and restaurants along Pine Avenue well into the evening.
Best Places to Watch
The stretch along Pine Avenue is the heart of the parade experience. The street is lined with shops and restaurants, which makes it easy to grab a drink and stake out a spot early. Here are a few prime viewing options:
- Pine Avenue itself — Anywhere along the main stretch. Arrive at least 30–45 minutes early to get a good spot on the sidewalk.
- Gulf Drive and Pine Avenue intersection — A great corner spot where the parade makes its turn. Excellent visibility in both directions.
- Near the finish at Magnolia Avenue — The crowd thins out here, which is ideal if you’re bringing little kids or want a more relaxed viewing experience.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket if you want to set up early. The island’s laid-back vibe means no one’s going to jostle you for your spot.
